For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God
in the face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6  (ESV)
Photographs of days long past each containing emotions that bring either happiness or tears piled around me. Each looked at carefully for clues as to what was happening and what memories could be photographed on my heart.

I was looking for something in particular this time. Where are the pictures of me and my dad? I don’t have very many it seems.

Perhaps there are more at my momma’s house but here, I only have a few and far between. In fact, here is the most recent one I can find of the two of us taken 20 years ago at my wedding.

My Father and I, 1995
20 years ago. That’s a long time. I’ve decided from here forward I will capture more memories with this man I’ve adored all of my life.

But as I looked for these special moments, I had a thought. A very unique, this isn’t going to leave me for a long time thought

What would happen if I tried to take a photograph of me and my Heavenly Father together? What would the photograph look like?
Portrait with My Father

I wonder what it would look like
if we took a picture together?
Would others see the both of us
as happy as can be?
Or, would they see only You,
maybe only me?
What a delight, what a thrill
if when others view the image
they only see You, Jesus,
shining brightly through me.

My ABBA FATHER and I, 2015
I tried to take a picture of myself with God
But all I could see was flaws and sinful lust.
I asked God what He saw in this picture that we took
He smiled down upon me and said,
“Jesus Christ, the cross upon His blood was shed.”
In humble adoration, I removed my shoes right then
the ground become so holy I could not stand on it.
Tears streamed down my face in shame and gladness alike
And as I looked back at our photo all I could see
not me, but His glorious light.

The Bible says we are to be lights to the world. That
when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior we no longer walk in darkness
but in the Light. And when we keep God’s Word, when we live out our
Christian walk to its fullest with God, then others see only God and not
us.
I know people like that. I want to be like that. God’s light into the darkness of this world.

From My Heart To Yours,
Marcie
