I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;

All I want to do is praise You Lord.

All I want to do is sing Your praise.

All I want to do is whisper Your name

over and over and over again and again.

 

All I want to do is feel Your presence

All I want to do is rest in Your peace

All I want to do is give You glory

always and forever, to eternity.

 

Let not my lips speak evil

Let not my works be of me

Let not my thoughts be cruel

Let not my ways be of shame.

 

I raise my hands in praise

I raise my voice shouting Your name

I declare this is the day

Victory is Yours, for all of my days!

 

Look at the sky, beautiful in blue

look at the leaves, in autumn hues

look at the clouds, floating so free

Oh dear Lord, blessed be Your name.

 

Now I lay me down to rest

no cares or worries upon my chest

just praise and love and thankfulness

for Your grace and faithfulness.

 

Thank You Lord for all You are

thank You for giving me a song of praise

in Jesus’ name I pray my thanks.

I’ve been depressed for a week now. The what if’s came in for a visit and somehow I invited them to stay.

 

I let my thoughts drift in and out. I let them settle on the bad. Those things that nag…

 

I’m a crummy mother. I didn’t do my best. I should have done this and wish I’d done that. How different things might be if I had made other choices. Would we be struggling with these “problems” if I had just…

 

Oh I know we all go down this road sometime or another. It’s easy to do. Easy to let our minds seek out what is not true and let it make it’s home in our hearts.

 

But as I thought about writing tonight, I just couldn’t bring myself to write about any of that. I realized, all I really wanted to do was write a praise poem. All I wanted to do was praise the Lord!

 

And I wanted you to do the same.

Will you join me? I’ve put on my headphones and I’m searching out songs of praise. I love Sandi Patty because the majority of her songs are just praise to the Lord. And Twila Paris makes my heart leap for joy.

 

I don’t know who your “go to artists” are for praise and worship, but I encourage you to find a quiet spot, turn on some praise music, close your eyes and enjoy. It will change your mood and your attitude.

 

I can feel my spirit lifting. Can you feel it too? I’m attaching one of my favorite praise songs here. Will you share your favorites with me too?
