Bookstore Wonderings
I wandered around wondering why I came
knowing it wouldn’t be the respite of my hearts need
I would buy things I’d never look at or read
they’d end up in a pile, later to be discovered
and I’ll think to myself,
“Oh! There you are! I’ve been looking for you.”
Then place it in another TBR pile to forget
for more centuries to come.
This will be my forever routine
a cycle I’ll never forsake, because this is my happy place.
Buying more than I’ll ever need or read
and somehow,
for some reason,
this is okay.

Where do you get your most creative ideas? Do you have a special spot, room, or place that inspires you the most? I’d love to know in the comments below!

My story ideas are found in different places. I can be inspired while taking a leisurely stroll in the neighborhood or while sitting next to my office computer or even while daydreaming. I love how God gives ideas in the every day moments.
Leisurely strolls are the best, aren’t they Melissa? But I tend to take a lot of pictures while walking instead of thinking about writing. 🙂
I get inspired when I’m outside walking, especially when I’m not expecting to be inspired, and God shows up in the simplest ways, a cool breeze blowing on my face, my cat nibbling on my flowers, a tree swaying in a storm and standing strong. Also, working in my garden inspires me. Just getting dirty and loving scrounging in the dirt. My most recent story was inspired by a silly shower curtain my husband wanted us to get for the guest bath.
I love all of those ideas Pam! I went on a walk in park in the mountains a few years ago and begged God to give me words to write. He did not disappoint. 🙂
