Did you see the sun rise
awakening the day
bringing forth life
in such an extraordinary way
when was the last time
you stared into the night sky
moon and stars playing
twinkling so bright
precious hands and feet
wiggle for the first time
lungs that never sang
find their way to breathe
born of a virgin
heaven’s perfect gift
laid in a manger
no room in the inn
the Word became flesh
dwelt among men
and still to this day
abides within.
There is no miracle
as miraculous as this
that Jesus God’s son
became the ultimate gift.
