Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24

Lord, draw me near to You,

cleanse my heart brand new

may I feel Your warm embrace

as I seek Your holy face.

Grant my soul Your peace

when Your forgiveness I seek

and when I lie down at the eve

my sleep will be gratefully sweet.

I’m not sure, Lord, what I’m doing. Everything feels like it is falling apart. Yet, I know You hold all things in Your hands. That song, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”, has run through my mind more than a time or two lately. And You know what amazes me? You don’t just have the whole world in Your hands, you have me in there too. As if I’m the only one You are holding. How can that be? Yes, Lord, Your love and grace simply amazes me.

I feel so distracted. Just all the time. Can’t seem to get my act together and make things happen I want or need to happen. No matter how much I pray, I can’t seem to make my prayers go past the ceiling.

Lord, open the eyes of my heart please. Let me see Jesus. I want to reach out and touch you. Just let me see You. Open my ears, too, Lord. Help me to listen to You. Help me to hear what You have to say to me.

Search my heart and cleanse me of all that is not of You. Thank You for the power of the cross and promise of Your forgiveness when I confess my sins to You. If there be anything offensive in me, Lord, make it known to me so I may be right with You once again.

Make me aware of Your presence this week. Help me to see You and hear Your voice.

Lord, may we seek Your face this week in all we do and all we are.

Amen.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
