“But
ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they
will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in
the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

In
his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Does
not the ear test words as the tongue tastes food? Is not
wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?

GOD’S HANDS
God’s
hands are bigger than imagination comprehends
hands are bigger than imagination comprehends
Cup
your hands, close your eyes, envision yourself within them
your hands, close your eyes, envision yourself within them
See
your hands as God sees them as He wraps you in His care
your hands as God sees them as He wraps you in His care
The
walls His hands surround you with even mountains can’t compare.

His
hands are soft and tender and He holds you lovingly
hands are soft and tender and He holds you lovingly
You
cannot fall from His hands — they are
valley deep.
cannot fall from His hands — they are
valley deep.
So
rest and relax in God’s great hands you are nestled deeply there
rest and relax in God’s great hands you are nestled deeply there
And
know that no matter what, you are safe and need not despair.
know that no matter what, you are safe and need not despair.

LAST week we saw that God writes us on the palm
of His hand basically like a tattoo. He
has written us on His heart and He will never leave us nor forsake us. (Written On My Heart )

This week I’ve been thinking about the song,
“He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and you know, that is such a vast
concept. Because God’s hands have to be so large…no huge…humongous? to take on
the whole world and not just the whole entirety of the world but think about
this…the universe.

Are your thoughts and your eyes as wide as mine right now?
So let’s narrow this down just a bit. Let’s
put ourselves right there in the palm of His hand. As the poem says, “Cup
your hands, close your eyes, envision yourself within them”. Is that not more
doable? Look! There you are! Right there — safely, quietly, resting, deeply in
those hands. They are mountain high and valley deep. You cannot fall from His
grasp.

There’s a song that Sandi Patty sings, “In His Hand”. I
cannot find it on YouTube right now but these words have been echoing in my
heart all week:

I don’t know about you but that gives me the goosey-bumps.
It also gives me peace. A quiet peace where I know in my heart of hearts that I
am loved safe and secure forever.

Father God, help us to rest in You knowing that we are always safely in Your hands and You will never let us go.
How about you? What does it mean for you to dwell in the
safety of His hands?
safety of His hands?
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie

Marcie, I find such comfort in the knowledge that I am held safely in His hands, sheltered by all that would harm me. I often think of Him holding my hand as well, while walking with me on my journey, especially when shadows cross the path. When I remember He is with me, I'm no longer afraid.
Indeed Nan, how much pain we carry when we don't give it to Him and let Him hold our hands through it. There is such peace right there, isn't there? So happy you got a chance to stop by 🙂
