Out of the Darkness

Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
Proverbs 8:33-35 (NIV)

I heard a soft voice whisper,
“Come to Me, My daughter.”
Sitting at Father’s feet
He handed me gifts
I did not know I was in need.
His instructions, though clear,
didn’t make any sense
I wondered, could I trust Him?
But a peace down inside
found its way up to the my heart
and there in the hardest dark
I made up my mind, opened the door,
stepped into the light
blessings rained down, joy overfilled my life
why would I ever doubt
when God calls my name
He only has my good on His mind.
