Promise Me

Promise Me when this month is clear

you will not forget Me the rest of the year

Promise Me you’ll remember

all the ways of thankfulness I’ve taught you.

Promise Me you will continue

to find ways to be grateful each day

Promise Me, especially in the next few weeks,

you’ll seek My heart more than anything.

I know you’ll be tempted to focus

all your attention on gifts, decorations, and fuss

please, would you just come find your rest in Me alone.

When you begin to feel anxious and worried

promise Me you will stop and consider

all the things you gave thanks for through these moments

and once more you’ll find in Me your hearts fulfillment.
