“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

Psalm 34:1-3

Lord,

the day has ended
thought now I could breathe
but
I still have so much to do
to put things under our tree.
Perhaps we have mistaken
material gifts to be
the most important aspect
of our Christmas theme.
Celebration of Jesus
now there are thoughts
worthy of praise
bringing my heart
into Your presence
to honor you today.
So I come on bended knee
and kneeling of my heart
to the Poet of poets
King of kings
Jesus Christ
the greatest gift of all.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Angel-Ornament2-496x1024.jpgThis week I just want to remember to worship You.

As I shop for presents for others, may I first ponder anew the gift of Your son.

As I finish decorating my home, may I first remember the lone stable where You were born.

As I speak to others, may I speak first of Your love.

As I bake food, may I first give thanks for the bread of Your word.

As I sing Christmas songs, may I first think on the first carol told by the angels throng.

As I sit in front of the Christmas tree, remind me of the cross You bore for me.

Lord keep us in Your care. May we want to be moved closer to You instead of the holiday stress we place upon our hands and hearts. Show us the true meaning of this day.

There are many who say we shouldn’t celebrate Your son’s birthday, but if I celebrate my own and celebrate family friends, why should I not celebrate Jesus, our greatest gift?

Thank You for sending him. Thank You for loving us so much. Thank you for the cross but most of all, thank You for his resurrection and the salvation You promise to give us all when we invite You into our hearts and souls.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
