Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7
I’ve been watching the movie, β€œTitanic”, and thinking about how much trust it took for the passengers to be on that boat.

The boat was supposed to be unsinkable. But as we all know, in the end, it did sink.

The people aboard that ship put their trust in the captain to get them safely to America. They trusted the architects as well. They trusted that the boat was built securely and strong enough to withstand anything that may come their way.

And still, many died that night.

But God is so much bigger than the Titanic. He’s bigger than anything we can dream of or fear.

He’s a mighty God. Strong. Dependable. Secure. His name is a strong tower. Jesus’ name is above all names.

When I place my trust in God I can be assured that whatever happens, He is here to hold me up and keep me safe. He is my strength when I am weak. His strength keeps me strong.

If I trust You Lord
    where will you take me?
Will I rise above the wings of the wind
will I journey to unknown lands
will I walk miles upon miles of roads
will I swim deeper than my breath can go?

You call me to trust You Lord

    even through grasses tall
to take Your hand and let You lead
to offer only one solitary dream
to give what I was never meant to keep
to love You with my heart – free.

Help me, Lord, to trust You more
keeping my eyes fixed on You secure
teach me how to love You alone
leaning on You – the Everlasting Arms
tasting the goodness of obedience’s song
resting in Your presence forevermore.

Are you worried about your future? Maybe you’re worried about something that seems so much bigger than anything you’ve ever handled before? Whatever it is, place your trust in God. In Him alone is safety.

As you walk out on that water, keep your focus on Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed squarely on Him. Take His hand. He will not let you sink.
From My Heart to Yours,
