But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7
The boat was supposed to be unsinkable. But as we all know, in the end, it did sink.
The people aboard that ship put their trust in the captain to get them safely to America. They trusted the architects as well. They trusted that the boat was built securely and strong enough to withstand anything that may come their way.
And still, many died that night.
But God is so much bigger than the Titanic. Heβs bigger than anything we can dream of or fear.
Heβs a mighty God. Strong. Dependable. Secure. His name is a strong tower. Jesusβ name is above all names.
When I place my trust in God I can be assured that whatever happens, He is here to hold me up and keep me safe. He is my strength when I am weak. His strength keeps me strong.
where will you take me?
Will I rise above the wings of the wind
will I journey to unknown lands
will I walk miles upon miles of roads
will I swim deeper than my breath can go?
You call me to trust You Lord
even through grasses tall
to take Your hand and let You lead
to offer only one solitary dream
to give what I was never meant to keep
to love You with my heart – free.
keeping my eyes fixed on You secure
teach me how to love You alone
leaning on You – the Everlasting Arms
tasting the goodness of obedienceβs song
resting in Your presence forevermore.

Yes and Amen Martha! Praying for you. Love, Marcie π
This: "When I place my trust in God I can be assured that whatever happens, He is here to hold me up and keep me safe." Yes and amen π
I'm so thankful He keeps teaching me this lesson this year. It can be a hard lesson but it is needful. Thank you for visiting Nan and sharing. Much Love, Marcie π
For a while now I've been asking God to expand my trust in Him. I pray this multiple times daily.
Wanna' know the catch?
He puts me in situations that require I trust Him!
This may seem obvious but many Christians miss it. Learning to trust God more and on a deeper level takes time, growth & effort.
He'll allow inconveniences, trials & tribulations into your life because in going through those things we learn to reflexively run to Him, pray earnestly/desperately, pray often and continually place ourselves in His presence.
I say this from personal experience throughout my life. But, more specifically, I recently found myself in a courtroom facing serious charges of a crime I didn't commit. Before the date I appeared before the judge I begged and pleaded that God would not allow me, an innocent man, to go to jail for a crime I didn't commit. Also, I prayed, "not my will but yours". I trusted that IF prison was in my future that He'd allow me to be a minister to those I'd Encounter on the inside.
Thankfully, I remain a free man. I've gained a greater appreciation for how He takes care of me, I've learned how to trust Him more and to a greater degree.
So yes, trust in Him is important, paramount actually. Just remember, sometimes gaining that deeper trust is hard fought.
Great article Marcie!
OH Taz how I feel your pain and heartache. I am so grateful God has upheld you through this and you have learned how to lean on Him. You are so correct that He DOES place us in situations to help us learn to trust Him and lean on Him. Thank you for sharing your story with me. This year my theme word with God is trust. He's definitely teaching me how to trust Him. God Bless You Taz, Marcie π
Oh Marcie, I love the line "tasting the goodness of obedience's song". Thank you for sharing your heart. Blessings, Julie
