Let my teaching fall like rain

and my words descend like dew,

like showers on new grass,

like abundant rain on tender plants.

Deuteronomy 32:2

In the stillness of the day

Lord, breathe Your breath on me

bring me comfort, bring me peace

whisper words of love serene.

In the stillness of the evening

Lord, show me where You’ve been

how You’ve worked wonders within

through thick and through thin.

In the stillness of the night

Lord, provide Your heavenly light

to my weary soul and heart

let me sleep deep knowing You are here.

In the stillness of the morning

Lord, remind me to put You first

in Your presence let me hide

safe all day may I abide.

In the stillness, in the quiet,

whether morning, noon, or night

Lord, breathe Your breath on me

may I hear each whisper that You speak.

Rain drops fall softly upon the dry earth reviving and refreshing the air.

Breezes blow softly, the wheat field waving at the sun.

And down a little ways from the mountain a steady stream of water flows clear and free.

In the morning the sun rises quietly in soft tones of pink, purple and orange. In the evening it sets bringing gasps of joy.

Nighttime falls, stars twinkle, the moon smiles full of mysterious glory.

Day by day mercies fall, grace is extended, His presence is given and we don’t even see it. Questioning if He’s really there or if He’s really listening—maybe He doesn’t really care.

Yet, creation shows us over and over and over again here He is!

Lord, don’t let me miss You. Don’t let me get so into my own life, my own self, that I have become convinced You aren’t there. Remind me to remember that You love me and that You care. You have promised to never leave us or forsake. O dear Lord, may we take time each day, morning, noon, and night to look for how You are filling each moment with You.

From My Heart to Yours,

Marcie 🙂
