A Cup of Conversation
Oh! Hello,
Come on in.
Would you like some coffee?
Milk? In your coffee?
Suit yourself.
I’ll take mine black.
No, sugar is for depression.
Moodiness always calls for tea.
No, not sweet tea. Hot tea.
Sweet tea is best friends with
Joy, laughter, and all things good.
Hot chocolate? Oh, well, let’s ask.
“Hot chocolate, whom is your best friend?”
“Hugs and winter’s breathe,” comes his ready reply.
Oh yes. The warmth of knowing
We always have a friend near
Even if it’s a river of water
Flowing from a cup.
