Day 17
A (No) Thanks Day
How can I be thankful when there’s so much to do?
How can I be thankful when my anxieties are through the roof?
How can I be thankful when it feels so hard to breathe
Filled with disappointments, discouragement, and defeat?
I tried to pray, but my prayers didn’t seem to reach very far
Wrote down a few blessings, only wishing I had more.
Read the bible, it helped a bit, I’ve read all those words before
Oh Lord, I just can’t seem to get out of this emotional mire.
So, would You please send to me some encouragement today?
I really want to laugh and sing and smile and play
Show me how to love, forgive and say
Thank you, Lord, for everything, even this hard day.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.
Psalm 40:2
Dear Heavenly Father, many of us are suffering, especially mentally. This year has been a beast and a burden almost too much to bear. There are days we don’t even want to get out of bed or do anything. But Lord, with Your help, we can rise from this. We can do all things through Your strength. Lord, lift us out of this miry clay and set our feet on The Rock. Bring us to a place of rest and peace. And may the joy of the Lord this Thanksgiving, be our strength. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
