The Lord is good,

A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble;

He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully]

those who take refuge and trust in Him.

Nahum 1:7 (AMP)

Trying to worship You

out of an empty heart.

A vessel broken, sharp shards

can’t say I’ve tried very hard,

to keep You first in all things

though I prayed often in this dark.

Worshiping You out of a dry breath

cannot be sustained, nor bring life,

so what shall I do with my shallowness

how can You find any praise in this strife?

In my frustrations Lord,

let me see Your hand,

restless and uncertain

I can’t seem to trace Your plan.

No matter what I’m doing

my heart longs for reassurance,

the curve I see up ahead

is hiding goodness at its end.

There is a blessed assurance

this is one thing I know,

Your love for me is abundant

grace and mercy overflow.

Though I don’t always see You

or feel Your loving hand,

after all these years

of loving You, I know

You’re the refuge I can depend on

in this weary, hardened land.

REPEAT AFTER ME

(I’d tell you to close your eyes but you’ll need them open to read 😊)

The LORD is good. (The LORD is good.)

He is my Refuge. (He is my Refuge.)

In Him, I will abide. (In Him, I will abide.)

The LORD is my Shepherd. (The LORD is my Shepherd.)

He is my Provider. (He is my Provider.)

In Him, I have perfect peace. (In Him, I have perfect peace.)

Now. Inhale (2-3-4), exhale (2-3-4), and smile. Do you feel it? Or rather, do you feel HIM? How hard it is to feel defeated when we force our frowns upside down.

Praise inhabits His people. Do you know what means? It means, we were made to praise Him. We were made to glorify Him. And when we stop, take a few minutes to acknowledge the presence of the Lord in our lives, His praise will well up within us, and we will feel peace we just cannot explain.

Inhale peace, exhale frustration. Inhale love, exhale impure thoughts. Inhale the name of Jesus, exhale words of praise.

Or, as I like to say, when all is too much to handle…

JUST. BREATHE. JESUS.

All it takes is His name on our lips, to travel to our hearts, and fill our minds with Him.

From My Heart to Yours,

Marcie 🙂
