Dear Lord,
it sure would be nice
to look out my window pane
and watch the white fall
to the ground
from these skies so grey.
How others would laugh at me
and maybe even scorn,
if they knew how much I long
for the white to fall and fall.
But when it comes upon this land
it serves to remind me so,
that as You look upon my heart
it is whiter than the snow.
The red, red blood of Jesus
has cleansed me from my sin
so please, dear Lord, I ask You
the white from the clouds
to descend.
And once again this Christmas
I’ll remember why He came,
and my heart is pure and spotless
whiter than the snow
I see out my windowpane.
