Cookie Cutter Thanks
I don’t want a cookie cutter day with cookie cutter graces
I don’t want the same shapes and conversations
I can’t think of anything more perfect than a day of rest
creating memories in a hope-filled chest.
Up early to watch the parade in my jammies all morning
turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and stuffing
filling my senses, my tummy rumbling for dinner
going to sleep in a bed warm, safe, and cozy.
What a treat it is to enjoy such a wonderful day
spending time with family and friends playing games
even more special, the icing on the cake (or should I say, cookies?)
is giving Jesus my time, everyday in thanksliving.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
