“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16

She listened to the rain
as it pinged a rhythm steadily
with each thud upon the pavement
she winced and wondered
does it hurt when it lands so thunderously?

The breezes spoke softly to her
She watched leaves as they scattered
on the whispers of the wind
breathing upon the earth
with a swish, swish, swish

suddenly the wind it changed
roaring across the land
beating into everything
breaking, bending, mad

she couldn’t take the pressure
oh, how it made her cry
deciding snow must be much better
she floated lazily through the sky

the landing so much softer
like a pillow or a cloud
and she didn’t feel so lonely
to as the other flakes
also came to lay down

the suffocation that ensued
was more than she could take
and decided maybe snow
was a rather bad mistake

looking to the sky, the land, the sea
she wondered what on earth
was meant to be…

with a sudden dawning
she realized what God truly wanted
just to be a light for Jesus
let Him breathe through her always.
