In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

And the light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:4-5

Light of the World

bring Christmas to my heart

shine through me

brighter than lights on the Christmas tree.

Move me closer

to the manger where You lay

may Your peace

be in me each and every day.

Hope begins when you stand in the dark

and look out at the light.

~The Christmas Train

(Hallmark Movie)

Of all the things we need this year, it is hope.

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Right now, I know we all are hoping for life to get back to some sort of normalcy. Often this year we have been told we need to adapt to this “new normal” for “unprecedented times”. And while we’ve all done the best we could to adapt, we quickly realized how much we didn’t want to.

I don’t know about you, but every day feels a little dark. Like a little cloud is hanging over my head, ready to rain on me any time now. I have to keep reminding myself, God is in control. He knows not only what has happened and what is happening, but He knows what is going to happen.

Nothing. Absolutely no-thing has taken God by surprise this year. God has not left us to fend for ourselves. He hasn’t decided to let us handle it all on our own (though so often we try to). God is right here with us. Emmanuel is His name.

While we all stand here in the dark, waiting for someone to come rescue us, all we need to do is let faith lead the way. Watch for the Light to shine, and follow His star.

He is our hope. He is our way, truth, and life. He is our Prince of Peace.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
