For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.
2 Corinthians 8:12

TANGLED REVELATIONS

Tangled branches intertwined
I am the branch, You are the vine.

Roots grow deep, a soul’s foundation
for fruit fulfilled in truth’s revelations.

Buds spring forth but only when
the Source of life has flowed within.

New life is born from shedding of skin
and all who behold the forest of green

Will only appreciate life’s beauty
when their heart through pruning sees

What once was dead
is revelations glory.

I sat by myself at the small, round table in my room at The Cove tears
coursing down my face. I desperately wanted to hear God’s voice. To know
and understand the truth of what He wants for me. It was a very solemn,
quiet time.

Outside the window tall weathered trees stood with
bare branches intertwining. In some places it was hard to see which
branches belonged to which tree.

Tears rushed forth harder unbidden as His Words penetrated my heart:

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

…without Me you can do nothing…
without Me you can do nothing…

I was searching for truth but the truth was right there all along.

Before
I left for the writer’s conference I had asked God to show me why I was
going to it. He led me to the above verse in 2 Corinthians. While
sitting there in that chair He continued to reveal (and kept on throughout this
week revealing) that He is simply looking for a willing heart. A heart
surrendered to Him.

 …abide in Me…

At the end of my first writer’s conference (2015) God said, “Fix your eyes on Me”. Then throughout the year He showed me how to:

1. Focus on Me. Fix your eyes on Me. Not on your circumstances. Not on what you want. On Me. (Philippians 4:8-9)

2. Commit everything to Me. Not just pieces parts but the whole. Everything. (Proverbs 16:3)

3.
Trust Me. Not what you think is right. Not what you want to be right.
Trust Me to establish your ways, thoughts and steps. (Psalm 16:11; Proverbs 3:5-6)

4. Obey. Just obey. If I ask you to do something, do it. And I will reward you for it. (Jeremiah 7:23; Matthew 7:24-27)

This year God is adding this to my list:

5.
Willing. Take all that I have shown you and be willing to do it. I am
the Vine, you are the branch. I will give you the strength to do all I
have asked you to do if you will surrender yourself to me. (2
Corinthians 8:12; John 15)

This is an on-going conversation between the
Lord and I. It’s been intense this week. I am eager to see what else He
has to show me.

How about you? What is God teaching you this week? This year? Are you willing to trust God and do whatever He’s asked you to do?
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
