‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great

and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Jeremiah 33:3

I meant to spend my day with Jesus
give Him all my time
but instead I washed the dishes
hung laundry on the line.

I meant to give thanks to Jesus
for the food upon my plate
but then I got distracted
and I ate, and ate, and ate.

I meant to say goodnight to Jesus
before falling fast asleep
but the last thing I remember is
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

It’s hard to hear God’s voice when we’re not spending time with Him. It’s even harder to make life decisions when we don’t include Him in the decision-making.

Microwave living. I heard this phrase on the radio today and laughed out loud. What a perfect metaphor for today’s society. We want everything as quickly as possible. Just stick something in the microwave and voile! Reminds me of the old Staples commercial, “Beep! That was easy!”

But God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than ours. In other words, He knows better than we do what is best for us. And most of the time, microwaves and “easy buttons” are not in His plans.

So, my challenge for us this week—and the coming months—is to not forget God. Find time daily to take our cares to the Lord. Let Him guide our hearts and our minds into peace as we seek Him for everything we need. Then wait patiently for Him to answer in His timing.

From My Heart to Yours,

Marcie 🙂
