We love Him because He first loved us.
1 John 4:19

I was told, “You are beautiful in your heart”,  so many times growing up.

As a child, this is never enough. In fact, it wounded. It hurt.

Because comparing my “unloveliness” to my sister’s model-like beauty made me feel ugly.

I wanted to be like her. Not just beautiful of heart and soul but beautiful outwardly to the world.

And when those same people told me that my beauty was more lovely than hers, I did not believe them. How can that be to a 10, 12, 16 year old? You couldn’t have convinced me if you tried for a zillion years.

Watch this video and know —

God made you with all of the abandonment and joy of these awe-inspiring views.

He made you: wonderfully, beautifully, intricately.

All the way down to distinct fingerprints and DNA.

There’s nothing quite like you. There’s NO ONE AT ALL like you!
Did you know even twins have distinct features just to each of them?

OH! THE WONDER! THE MAJESTY! THE BRILLIANCE! OF YOU!

Because God loves YOU. Every single part of you. He loves you with an everlasting love.

LOVE POEM FROM GOD

I love you.
Not just your eyes or hair
Not just the clothes you wear
Not just the way you walk
Not just the way you talk.
I love you.
Every part of you.
Each little dent and wrinkle

Each little crack and crinkle
Each little frown and sneer
Each little smile and fear.
I love you.
From the day I created you
I knew you would be
Something special and unique.
I made you and wrapped you in love
Hoping one day you’d return to My arms.
Please do not ever doubt
The sincerity of My words
But when you do just remember
I have loved you with an everlasting love.
Not like the ones who’ve left you
Not like the one who betrayed you
Not like the ones who never forgave you
Not like anyone past, present, or future.
I love you.
You.
Yes, you.

You may scoff at such ideas. You may think you are the most unlovely on this planet.  But that just couldn’t be further from the truth.

You are worthy because He has made you worthy.
You are enough because He is enough.
You are beautiful because He is beautiful through you.
You are loved because He loved you first. He has never stopped loving you and He will never quit loving you.

I’m soon to be 45 years old in a couple of weeks. I’ve learned a lot in my years. And that little thing about being beautiful in your heart? It’s a bit special now to know that others saw Jesus in me even at that young age. And that’s all I want anyone to see:

How much Jesus loves you.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
