We remember. We remember the horror. The nightmare of the attacks and every detail of that day. Those of us who experienced it even from afar felt the toll of the many lives lost and the many families who will never have the enjoyment of being around that husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister….  Not all of us lost a loved one that day, but we did lose something. We lost our sense of freedom. We lost our sense of liberty. We lost our sense of self.

But…

But we haven’t truly lost our way have we?

We came together as a nation and we prayed.

We prayed for those who fought to save lives. We prayed for those who lost loved ones. We prayed and we prayed for God to show our nation how to heal.

And He did.

He brought us through a tragedy that at that moment we thought we’d never get through as a nation. Individually, He gave us each hope for a future.  As we watched people come together to help each other, we found our faith in God increase.

Twelve years later…

Memories have faded a little. Even with each name read on this day, it isn’t quite as breath-taking as it was that next year as we held the moments of silence. And we don’t care as much as we did then.

The question is…have we done this with God?

“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE” JOHN 3:16

Do you still remember God? Do you still remember what Christ did for you? Did you receive Christ as your Savior early in life and now He is a faded memory?

God has not forgotten you. God has not left you. God still loves you.

How will you keep the flame of Christ alive in your life?
