let the wise listen and add to their learning,

and let the discerning get guidance—

Proverbs 1:5

in the in-between

we strive to see

what we lived

what is yet to be

in the in-between

there’s a pause

a simple plea

to find our “me”

in the in-between

a longing, a desire

fills the heart and mind

looking for the next path

in the in-between

it’s so easy

to feel unseen

despondent beyond belief

in the in-between

it’s a time to breathe

look to the stars

align our hearts

with the only One

who can fill

our in-between

with grace, mercy and peace.

There’s a week between Christmas and New Year’s where the world seems to stop. It’s like, everything is paused as we ponder what the next year will hold.

All I can think about this week is the idea of the “in-between”. In-between these two great holidays are some of the most solemn days we will live. As we strive to determine what happened over this year—what we have done or didn’t do, or those great dreams that were accomplished, started, or never happened.

Somewhere in there is the moment we declare ourselves ready to begin the new year. We’ve come to terms with who we became this time around, and now we’re ready to find a new path to travel and be a better version of ourselves.

So, in this in-between, take a breath, close your eyes, and pray for wisdom, mercy, grace, and peace as you walk into this next year of your life. Don’t let this moment pass you by. It’s one of the single most important of your in-between this week.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  Matthew 6:33

From My Heart to Yours,

Marcie 🙂
