OH LONELY TREE

Oh lonely tree out in the field

How do you stand so tall and full

Where no river runs by you

How do your leaves produce such blooms?

Oh lonely tree out in the meadow

Grasses green and flowers pink

Your loveliness comforts me

I want to curl up beneath your canopy.

Oh lonely tree out in the pasture

Branches reaching toward the heavens

Are you praying to your Maker

Are you worshiping your Savior?

Oh lonely tree out in the prairie

Your roots grow deep to depths uncertain

Somehow I think you understand

Who gives you life and makes you grand.

Oh lonely friend feeling like a tree forgotten

Let your roots grow deep in His living water

Spread your branches high into the sky

Feeling God’s love showered from on high.

Oh lonely friend out in the field

Remember God is with you still

He hears every tiny sigh you make

He sees every time you lift your praise.

God has never abandoned you

No matter how many others do

He sent His Spirit to live inside

To be your Comforter and your Guide.

If you feel lonely here’s what you do

Pray to God to see you through

Reach out to others who may be in need

Of the shade and shelter Your Father brings.

Oh lonely tree and friend out in the meadow

Don’t be like the weeping willow

Soak in the rays of your Maker’s light

Abide and rest in His matchless love.

The grasses green and the flowers pink

Come to play and keep you company

You’re not as alone as you may think

Even in the night the moon and stars wink.

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

1 Chronicles 16:11

Oh Lord, remind us to remember that You care. Even when we are at our loneliest, we believe no one else is thinking about us or loves us; Lord, help us to seek You with all our hearts, minds and souls.

Even the loneliest of trees—way out in the furthest parts of the earth where nothing else seems to exist—flourishes. Those trees only flourish because of You Lord. So let us flourish under Your hand of protection and care, no matter where we may be planted in this season of life.

From My Heart to Yours,

Marcie 😊
