Pondering The Poetic Heart
Pondering the Poetic Heart is a place to guide our spirits into place of contemplative rest. As a poet, I long to encourage you to find hope and healing through the process of reflecting on God, love, life, and all things that capture the spirit through the written word.
In the month of November, I will lead us through a time of thanksgiving through my 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems. In December we will ring the bells of Christmas. There will also be other times through the year when we will celebrate love, just for fun poetry, and more. I pray this will be a place of loving contentment for all of us.

May the magic of Thanksgiving
be ever on your shoulders,
May the love of the season
be always in your hearts.

gather around
where miracles abound.

& dear friends
from far & near
Troubled But Thankful
Some days are enormously sad
so much heartache in our world
thankfulness becomes difficult
there seems to be no words.
Just tears upon our pillows
as we silently ponder anew
what it must have been like
so long ago to be You.
Come to the Table
Come to the table
prepared just for you
in prayer and in love
filled with blessings from above.
Just Passing By
Every day between 10 and 2
on the nicer of weather days mind you
he sits on a wall by the road
greeting each car passing by
with a simple wave of hello.
Thank You for the Memories
I remember get-together’s
watching parades
eating until sick
I remember stories told
games played
guitars picked
I remember snowflakes
and rainy days
hot chocolate to sip
I Hear You
Chores
too many
chores
dishes
dust and
laundry
galore
sometimes
I just can’t
take it
anymore
Little Bitty Seed
I’m just a little seed
nothing much right now
but I have huge dreams
of what I want to be.
I was planted in the backyard
deep in the fertile soil
sometimes I feel forgotten
no one sees me hiding here.
