Prayer of Thanksgiving

All the trees have shed their leaves

made ready for winter’s frigid breeze

grasses have browned, flowers have gone

and I’m missing cheerful birds songs.

Days are short, night seems long

somewhere someone is missing loved ones

many are sad, weary, and worn.

But I want you to know there is still hope

even in the most hardened of days

the holidays are here, it’s time to find cheer

for all the ways we can give thanks.

So, here we are, the end of the month

I’d like to share one thing more

a prayer for us all, to finish the year off

in gratefulness to our Lord.

Thank You Jesus for Your blood

shed to save us from death and hell

Thank You Jesus for Your love

more priceless than any gift could hold

Thank You Jesus for Your breath

traveling through our heart and lungs

Thank You Jesus for never leaving us

thank You for God, Emmanuel.

As I lay my head upon my pillow

at the close of each new day

Lord I want to thank You

for another chance to worship You in praise.

Thank You for Your grace and mercy

thank You for Your all-sufficiency

filling my heart when I am empty.

Thank You for Your peace

when I am at my lowest

and thank You for Your rest

when I’m not feeling at my best.

There’s so much to be grateful for

so many things my heart could explore

I cannot count the ways You bless us

so I guess, just thank You

for all You are, all You do,

and all ways You see us through.

#30DaysThanksgiving21

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness;

    come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God.

    It is he who made us, and we are his[a];

    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

    and his courts with praise;

    give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;

    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

PSALM 100
