Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Psalm 27:14
Lord,
sometimes all I can see
is all the work in front of me.
Overwhelmed, exhausted, and deplete
I don’t know how to get through my day.
Prone to wander, prone to procrastinate
Lord,
please forgive me, help my heart
to do your will, be obedient to your ways.
While sitting here in contemplation
deep thoughts I cannot hide command attention
Lord,
give me space to breathe and wait
fix my eyes on you and not these things.
Let me hear your voice, listen to your plans
and in humble gratefulness, rest it all in your hands.

This poem brings a shift in it. A shift from focusing on work, or stress, or whatever lies in front of us at the moment, and bringing it to the Lord so He can help us rest. There’s a sweet peace when we roll our cares onto Him, and living in thanks instead of turmoil.
Next week begins 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poem with Marcie. I hope you’ll join me as we discover what it means to be in thanks-living each day.
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
