Uncover
my eyes
so that I may see
the miraculous things in your teachings.

Psalm 119:18 (GW)
OH LORD MY GOD!
Revive me!
Reveal Yourself to me
In only the way that
You can
Show me Your power
In a way that will make me
Stand up straight
Take notice β€”
Nebuchadnezzar was awed
At the sight of You in that
Fiery furnace, and,
Like the king who threw
Daniel into the lion’s den
People stared in amazement
When Peter was at their gate
Instead of in jail β€”
Oh LORD!
How can I obtain knowledge
From You?
My King and my God!
I long for You to
Open my eyes, open my ears
Open my heart
Throw open Your gates and
Your Word!
That I may see, hear, understand
Know what You long for me
To do, to be, to write, to speak
Fixing my eyes on You, and
You only
Reveal Yourself to me
My ELOHIM!

Tears pooled in my eyes as
we sang during the invitation at the closing of the message. Just this
morning I had written the majority of this poem before leaving for church. The words in this poem have become such a prayer of my heart lately. I
was not even sure why this had come to mind this particular morning except that I have been so thirsty
for God lately.

Not just thirsty but absolutely longing (as in deeply
desiring) to feel God’s presence resonating in my soul. In my heart.
I will not tell you what God revealed to me during the
message at this time. Some things God wants us to keep between the two of us
until a time when He wants us to shout it from the rooftops*. But, I can tell
you this:
HE SHOWED UP BIG TIME! Tweet: HE SHOWED UP BIG TIME! http://ctt.ec/H7fLe+ @Marcie_Bridges
As I sat listening carefully to the Lord and read the
account of Abraham and Isaac (Genesis 22:1-19) with new eyes, I knew in my
heart God was telling me things that only He could reveal to me in a way that
made me sit up and take notice.
When was the last time you read God’s Word and it made your
heart quicken? You gasped for breath, took notice and hungered to hear more of
what He was saying to you in that moment?
May we fix our eyes on Jesus, seek Him first, and stand in
shear utter and amazement at what He is teaching us and revealing to us.
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
