The Lord will keep you from all harm—

   he will watch over your life;

the Lord will watch over your coming and going

   both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121:7 & 8

Walking with my shadow

no matter where I turn

she follows me around

I love her little quirks.

Sometimes she looms before me

Sometimes she crouches behind

and there are days I don’t see her

but I know she’s by my side.

What a comfort, what a joy,

what a wonderful peace it is

to know I’ll never walk alone

with Jesus as my friend.

Even on the cloudiest of days

when all feels dark and dim

I’m reassured of His presence

in the quiet, just with Him.

Laughter is so, so good for the heart. I love to smile and laugh. It makes life come alive! Don’t you think so too? And it’s even more fun when done with a family member or friend. 🙂

Last evening I walked outside and told my daughter I was going for a walk.

She said, “By yourself?”

“Why not?” I replied.

“Well, because, it’s…it’s illegal and um, immoral.”

I chuckled. “Immoral eh? Well, I wouldn’t want to do anything against God.”

“Oh for sure.” She agrees. “Cause, you know, in Genesis on the first day God created uh, plants. And the second day He created…um, let’s see, um…dogs. And on the third day He said Marcie shall not go on walks alone.”

Y’all, I about died laughing! My daughter is a true and precious treasure, isn’t she? (I was also rewarded with her as my companion on my walk. 🙂 )

Going on walks by ourselves can be extremely relaxing. It gives us time to ponder, pray, and be creative. Or maybe we just need to spend time enjoying the scenery without any distractions on our minds.

But sometimes we don’t want to be alone though. Companionship can be just the ticket we need to fill ourselves with an extra bounce in our step and take us out of the ruts of life.

I was so refreshed while taking a stroll through God’s word and reading once again the verses He gave me for this year. Psalm 121 fills my heart with such hope knowing not only is He my source of strength and my help, but He is always with me. He knows where I’m going and when I’m returning. And He is with me with every step of the way.

Shadows amaze me. Did you know that even on cloudy days we have a shadow, we just can’t see it? The same is with God. There are days when we feel really alone but we’re not. God is shadowing us the whole day long. He is always with us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

Isn’t that comforting? I’m so grateful for His faithful presence. Aren’t you?

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
