Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground”. Exodus 3:5

HOLY GROUND
Sand shifts beneath my feet
Earth spins around me
Not sure I’m seeing what I see
There – among the other weeds
Burns a bush that does not disintegrate.
Slowly I approach in awe
I hear His voice, listen to His call
I hear it loud, hear it clear
He tells me to stop and not draw near
The land I stand on is Holy Ground
Take off my shoes for sacred vows.
Lord, here I stand, straining to hear
The sound of Your voice . . .
But I have not removed my sandals
On this sacred, Holy Ground
I’ve treated prayer like an every day act
Instead of the offering that You ask.
Father God, remove my pride
Here I kneel, in You I hide
Now Lord Jesus, Giver of everlasting life
Speak to me, speak through me
Here
Am
I.
