Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Luke 1:45

When moving forward

feels like moving backward

the road cast before you

is all hair-pin turns

upsetting the stomach

in waves of nausea

pressure becomes to turn around

what lies ahead cannot be

a vision of what we want

to see or to do…

But God.

Brings a light to our soul

it glows like an angel

our eyes grow round in fear

yet our heart brims within

believing He will do what He says

knowing He will bring forth

all the good things He promised

trusting His hand to lead us

even if the road ahead

looks darker than we ever imagined.

There comes a day when you just have to believe. You just have to trust. No matter what anyone else tells you, no matter what your own heart and mind tell you, you have to decide to walk by faith and not by sight.

Long ago there was a girl named Mary. She was only a teenager. One night an angel appeared to her and told her she would become pregnant with the son of God. She would bear this child and be his mother.

And she trembled in fear. She not only wasn’t sure how this would happen, seeing as how she had never done the one act that would bring about a pregnancy, but she also knew it would be hardest year of her life.

But even as Mary trembled in fear, she made the decision to believe. She decided she would do this because it would honor God. He had chosen her for this special child and instead of saying no, she said yes. Yes to doing God’s will.

So when the road is dark and all you can do is 5 miles an hour around the hair-pin turns, your hands trembling in fear, maybe it’s time to just trust God will get you safely to that destination. Whatever it is. He will lead you, because He has promised to.

Blessed is she who believed God would do what He said He would do. A precious friend reminded me tonight, the outcome is on Him. It is up to Him to make it all happen, not on me. Not on us.

May we honor the Lord this week and walk in faith, not by sight.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
