Born of a virgin, such a lowly birth
Jesus the Messiah in the flesh came
The ultimate gift of Himself He gave.
At this Christmas time what can I give?
What do I have that is of worth to Him?
I looked at my talents, looked at my dreams
I looked at my life and all that it means
Realization dawned there is nothing fit
Of and in my being to give to Him.
At the foot of the Christmas tree I sit
Bible in my lap, prayer upon my lips
Reading of the Christ child’s birth
Angels singing, shepherd’s bringing
Worship and adoration to this King
I find myself beginning to sing
And as my song rises from a heart of peace
It comes to my mind the gift I can bring.
Jesus, Messiah, Wonderful Counselor, born to die
Whoever believes in this Prince of Peace
Everlasting life you will receive.
It all comes down to this one true thing
One gift that only I can bring
My heart, my love, my faith, my belief
Dear Jesus, this is my gift to You on Your birthday.
Lord, under the tree is the biggest present of all
As I receive the ultimate gift from the greatest Giver
I, in return, place my heart and my life in Your hands
Forever.

This echoes what I'm living out loud this Christmas: What can I give Him? I'll give Him my heart. Thank you for your beautiful poetry. Love you 🙂
