Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

This struck me with such force one foggy day that I have not been able
to forget it. I connected dots that for some reason had never even
entered my mind, letting on my heart and soul. It’s clarity brings tears
to my eyes washing away doubts and fears thought settled long ago.

Come and see:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

Psalm 119:105 ~ Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.

The Word is Jesus Christ.

Your Word, Jesus Christ, who is The Light becomes the words that light our path.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the

world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12
This fog that has settled over the land
has settled into my mind and spirit.
Suffocating the life out of me
blinding my eyes so I can’t see.
My attitude is grim and grey
a cloudy veil, my heart so lost.

But dear Jesus, my Lord,
I know this earthly fog was created by You;
yet, the fog encompassing my spirit
is not true.

Darkness flees from before You
Your Words are a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path because
YOU are the LIGHT of the world.

May Your light shine through me
as I make Your imprint mine

I put my foot in Your footprints
fixing my eyes only on You —
Your plans, ways and thoughts
my plans, ways and thoughts
become one sandprint encompassed
in the light of Your love.

As I drove through that fog I cried out to God within my soul to fill my heart with His light. I asked Him to change my attitude and fill me with His Spirit so I might do the things I had to do that day walking in His footsteps.

Dear Friend, why are you walking in a hazy fog of darkness? Isn’t it time you and I fix our eyes on the True Light? Let Him shine into every crack and crevice of our beings so He can shine so bright that everyone is blinded by Him as they look at us!  And as He shines through you, you will not be in need of a flashlight—you will never need to grope in the darkness—because He will be lighting your path so brightly you’ll know exactly where to go.
