He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Psalm 1:3

If I stood in a field
told you I was a tree
rooted to the ground
arms and hands
like branches and limbs
pointing to the sky
would you believe me?

But I AM a tree
rooted and grounded in God’s love
nourished by living water
only He can provide

Arms and hands lifted high
in praise
bearing fruit of His grace
not bending, nor breaking
only swaying the peaceful breeze

I am a tree
waiting
to be used
for His glory.

This week is my birthday week and I couldn’t be more grateful to God for breathing life into my lungs every day and all the blessings He has bestowed upon me over the years.

There’s so many lessons learned, highs and lows, good and bad, but through it all He has upheld me. He’s been the roots underneath my feet. The water keeping me hydrated and able to bear fruit for His glory.

So many times we focus more on the bad than the good. But this week—this week—I want to stand tall, let my lungs fill with His breath, and just praise Him for all these sweet years of life.

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
