So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6

Sometimes circumstances come into our lives we can’t quite grasp the enormity of. We find ourselves staring into the face of a situation that we could never have imagined. But here we are, sitting in a heap upon the floor, crying, sobbing, wondering how we got to this place.

This past month has found me in such a state. I’ve grappled with uncertainty, anger, worry, shame but I’ve also counted the blessings of this revelation from God.

It’s not been easy. It’s been very hard to find the good. The positive. The blessing.

But I have a God that will see me through this. He’s never let me down and I expect Him to continue to be right here with me through every step of this new journey.

WHEN IT ALL COMES DOWN

When it all comes falling down
crashing, tumbling to the ground
standing in sinking sand
plunging beneath waves strong hands
lift your eyes, extend your arms

toward the One who saves.
Circumstances come and go
beyond our strength to hold on
but there’s a Savior who sees all
He’s ready, waiting for us to call
lifting us from the pits of doubt
bringing us through valley’s drought
carrying us, setting our feet on His Rock.
When it all comes falling down
never fear or doubt
it’s not by your own might or power
but by His Holy Spirit
look up, for your salvation is nigh.

Ecclesiastes chapter 11* tells us there is a time for everything under heaven. Some of the things Solomon lists is a time for weeping and mourning but also a time for laughter and dancing. It’s okay to have days where we break down and cry. Days we want to die. There is a time—a season—for mourning loss, feeling defeated, depleted, and utter disappointment. But in God’s power and might, we can overcome those feelings and walk in the light of His love. In His victory. Rid ourselves of the spirit of fear to walk in the spirit of power, love and of  a sound mind**. We CAN do all things in Christ who strengthens us***, but we must, we MUST do it in His strength and power, not our own.

Whatever hard place you are in today, will you lean on the everlasting arms of God, stand on His promises, and walk in His strength today?

From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie
