Windowpane Prayers

Peeking through the curtains

out the windowpane

she’s looking for some magic

to help her through this day.

The dreariest weather ever

fog and mist settle

there’s no possible way

her prayers would reach heaven.

Then suddenly to her surprise

a soft glow awakened the night

through the mist and the fog

she knew He’d heard her call.

In thankful, grateful glee

she rushed through snow

(up to her knees)

wrapped her little arms

around the ones she loves the most.

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published,

he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem.

Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God,

just as he had done before.

Daniel 6:10
