Pondering The Poetic Heart

Pondering the Poetic Heart is a place to guide our spirits into place of contemplative rest. As a poet, I long to encourage you to find hope and healing through the process of reflecting on God, love, life, and all things that capture the spirit through the written word.

In the month of November, I will lead us through a time of thanksgiving through my 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems. In December we will ring the bells of Christmas. There will also be other times through the year when we will celebrate love, just for fun poetry, and more. I pray this will be a place of loving contentment for all of us.

Lord, I Don’t Only Want You…But I Need You

Lord, I Don’t Only Want You…But I Need You

if we’re honest, sometimes we don’t want God in our lives. Perhaps we think, “What has he really done for me?” or, “What if He wants more from me than I can give?” Maybe we just simply want to be left alone. Completely.

Yeah, this is counter to Christianity. Believe you me, I know this is not what Christians should want, letting on even think about. But sometimes we get so down and frustrated and depressed we don’t even want to acknowledge His existence in our lives.

I mean, what’s the use, right?

A Place at the Table for You

A Place at the Table for You

A Place at the Table for You: come & dine with Jesus. Let Him fill & satisfy your soul. Know that there's always a place at His table for you.

Are you struggling to believe you belong at the table with Jesus? I get it. But the truth is, you are invited. You are invited to come and sit with Him. You don’t have to say a thing. Just enjoy being in His presence.

You are invited to open your heart to Him.

The Christmas Tree & the Cross

The Christmas Tree & the Cross

The Christmas Tree & the Cross ~ it's becoming trendy in Christian circles to stop putting up Christmas trees but should we see it differently? I've had a personal tradition to read my Bible and pray while sitting or kneeling in front of my tree. I see on social media the new cross shaped trees too. What do you think? Should we keep the Christmas tree traditions?
