Pondering The Poetic Heart
Pondering the Poetic Heart is a place to guide our spirits into place of contemplative rest. As a poet, I long to encourage you to find hope and healing through the process of reflecting on God, love, life, and all things that capture the spirit through the written word.
In the month of November, I will lead us through a time of thanksgiving through my 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems. In December we will ring the bells of Christmas. There will also be other times through the year when we will celebrate love, just for fun poetry, and more. I pray this will be a place of loving contentment for all of us.
A (No) Thanks Day
How can I be thankful when there's so much to do?
How can I be thankful when my anxieties are through the roof?
How can I be thankful when it feels so hard to breathe
Filled with disappointments, discouragement, and defeat? . . .
Dear Heavenly Father, many of us are suffering, especially mentally. This year has been a beast and a burden almost too much to bear. But Lord, with Your help, we can rise from this. We can do all things through Your strength.
Wonderfully, Uniquely You
There’s no one like you
your little quirks
each smile and smirk
I love to hear you laugh
Red Ribbon Hope
Love . . . bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
a red ribbon of thanksgiving
entwines around our hearts
threaded through our faith
secured in hope and love.
Looking for Love
When you’re looking for love
in all the wrong places
it’s hard to imagine true love exists
but there is a love that transcends
wider, deeper, higher, longer
than any love could ever pretend
Time to Dance!
Hey! Can I get a shout?
How about an aaaaa-men!
Is there any praise?
Let me hear that hallelujah jam!
You know you want to
you know you have to
come one and all
come join the fun
In the Stillness
In the stillness, in the silence
there’s a place of quiet rest
a time to spend reflecting
in solemn gratefulness
A Fun Fall Day Out
Mary-May, Mary-May,
can you come out to play?...
Let’s go find our friends
take a walk down the lane
dip our feet in the creek
pick some fruits sweet
PRAISE HIM!
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7
Praise Him!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Thank Him for the love He bestows.
Grace that embraces our inner souls
Mercy He gives when we’re laid low.
A Cup of Conversation
. . ."Hot chocolate, whom is your best friend?"
"Hugs and winter's breathe," comes his ready reply.
Oh yes. The warmth of knowing
We always have a friend near
Even if it's a river of water
Flowing from a cup.
