O our God, will You not judge them?
For we have no power against this great multitude
that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do,
but our eyes are upon You.”
2 Chronicles 20:12
I have no words
none to convey
the deep emotions
at work and at play
night and day.
Letters form words
words form sentences
but I cannot express
in these dots and tittles
my thoughts and frustrations.
Across the globe, the sea
what feels far away from me
bombs explode, lives are lost
men, women, children
run for their life
losing all they have, own.
And I sit here,
in my warm home
tears cascading as I
watch the scenes unfold
my struggles, problems
seem so very small
compared to their plights
as I pray quietly, unceasingly
in my warm, snuggly home.

OH GOD, most precious HEAVENLY FATHER, I have no words to express how hard it is to watch the people of Ukraine run for their lives. I have no words for those who couldn’t flee, and now are homeless, without food, water, and help. I have no words for the images playing out on my TV screen. OH LORD! Please be our and their hope and strength today. My heart aches. My soul quakes. Even with the prices of our gas and food and needs going up here, may I remember those afar off who don’t have the ability to get these needs met . . . at all. For those who have lost loved ones and lost everything they have please be their shelter in this storm and the provision they need as they look around them wondering how they will go on from here. For those who have left everything—fleeing to a new place, a foreign place—LORD, be their guide, their shining light. We don’t know what to do. This situation feels so out of control and too big for us to handle. But You, O GOD, have provided not just for today but for tomorrow. May we look to You—no, SEEK YOU—with our whole hearts for the rest and peace and care we need. I plead this in Jesus’s name, the only name worth praying in, amen.
From My Heart to Yours,
Marcie 🙂
