Pondering The Poetic Heart
Pondering the Poetic Heart is a place to guide our spirits into place of contemplative rest. As a poet, I long to encourage you to find hope and healing through the process of reflecting on God, love, life, and all things that capture the spirit through the written word.
In the month of November, I will lead us through a time of thanksgiving through my 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems. In December we will ring the bells of Christmas. There will also be other times through the year when we will celebrate love, just for fun poetry, and more. I pray this will be a place of loving contentment for all of us.

Preparing Our Hearts for Thanksgiving: Reverence & Wonderment
So, while I lay upon the grass staring into the midnight sky, or I stare out the window into the blue heavenlies, I can think about my Lord. The One who gives me life. I can praise Him and consider His love for me.
And while I’m looking up at Him, He’s looking back at me. Smiling. Letting me know He hasn’t forsaken me, and He loves me with an everlasting love.

Let us always be humbled by the gift of God’s Son
For each brand new day He has granted us
In each moment, each hour, may we never forget
To soak in Thanksgiving brings the greatest of gifts.
These Things I Need
We often don't get real with others about what we need or want either from them, or for ourselves. I wrote this poem as an encouragement to myself, but also a reminder to be real with others and give others a chance to express what they need from me.
