All Those What-Ifs

All Those What-Ifs

God’s Word calls us to not worry. To be “anxious for nothing”. When the “what ifs” of life begin rummaging around in our brain, we have a choice to make. We can either worry or we can set our focus on God.

Lead Me, Holy Spirit

Lead Me, Holy Spirit

A quick poem of encouragement to put God first, and let the Holy Spirit be the leader of your heart and life.

Let the Holy Spirit lead
in action, speech and thought
in each decision He must lead the way
through every path that must be trod. …

Can You See Him Now?

Can You See Him Now?

I was 5 years old, walking into the girl’s bathroom at school, when another girl popped out from behind the door to scare me. Somehow, she poked me in the eye and her fingernail scratched the cornea. …My eye hurt so much I couldn’t even open it. Laser surgery removed the scratch, but for a month I had to wear a patch over my eye all of the time.

It’s really hard to see and to focus when something is blocking our view.

I wonder, what is keeping us from seeing God clearly today?

In the In-Between

In the In-Between

in the in-between
we strive to see
what we lived
what is yet to be

in the in-between
there’s a pause
a simple plea
to find our “me”

All I can think about this week is the idea of the “in-between”. In-between these two great holidays are some of the most solemn days we will live. As we strive to determine what happened over this year—what we have done or didn’t do, or those great dreams that were accomplished, started, or never happened.

So, in this in-between, take a breath, close your eyes, and pray for wisdom, mercy, grace, and peace as you walk into this next year of your life. Don’t let this moment pass you by.

Blanketed in Snow White Grace

Blanketed in Snow White Grace

For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift]. John 1:16, AMP

Soft white flakes
joy and happiness make
when child-like faith
moves through our aches
bringing peace when
we’re all alone.

Christmas Miracles

Christmas Miracles

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7…
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

Did you see the sun rise
awakening the day
bringing forth life
in such an extraordinary way

when was the last time
you stared into the night sky
moon and stars playing
twinkling so bright. . .

End of Month Blessings

End of Month Blessings

30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems, Day 30!

Thank you, dear Lord, for this month of blessings
a time to celebrate all You’ve given
some days full of cheer, some full of woe
but always there is something to be thankful for.
And now as we transition to focus on Jesus’s birth
let us not grow weary, let us not go in haste
instead to choose each day to bring each other grace . . .
