Preparing Your Heart for a Month of Thanksgiving (Pt. 2)
Such a simple concept. The idea of thanksliving: living each day with a heart of thanks.
The reality is, it’s become simpler to complain about what we don’t have, want, need, and who is aggravating us the most; than to stop and give thanks. But, why is that? Why do we have a harder time giving thanks? Why do we get weary of living life?
I surmise it is because we don’t believe thinking on or writing down what we are thankful for will really do us any good.
Preparing Your Heart For a Month of Thanksgiving (Pt.1)
As I prepare to do my annual 30 Days of Thanksgiving Poems during the month of November, I want to spend time just worshiping the Lord. I feel the need to accurately prepare my heart to receive whatever words He would have me write each day of November. It’s awfully hard to give thanks in the moment when I haven’t been giving thanks in the days beforehand.
The Good Old Days
Oh, to be my little girl self again. I was a happy child … Such fond memories. Memories of a time when I really didn’t have much of a care in the world. I loved Jesus, church, school, and people.
While the Bible does not specifically say to have childlike faith, Jesus does compel us to come to God as a child would: Innocent. Filled with wonder and faith. Full of belief God will do anything we ask Him to do.
God’s Gentle Whisper
. . .while you’re hiding out, trying to find refuge from whatever storm life is blowing your way, take a moment to listen. Listen for the still, small, whisper of God’s voice. He’s speaking to you, can you hear Him?
Come to Jesus
A note of encouragement to all who are feeling weary, heavy-laden, and burdened beyond your ability to stand. I pray for you to find peace, strength, and comfort as you rest in Him.
Looking for God
God loves when we seek Him. He wants us to search for Him. When we search for God, we are looking for someone we can depend on. Someone who loves us unconditionally and will never leave us. He rewards those who seek Him by showing up and revealing Himself to us at just the right time.
A Psalm of Praise
Some days all I want to do is praise the Lord! Come and praise the Lord with me.
How God Loves
God’s love is unconditional, unending, unfathomable, unwavering, unhindered, and unlimited.
When you’re feeling afraid and lonely, take a step outside, inhale a deep breath, and feel His love surround you.
