The Goodness of the Lord our God
A friend and I have been studying the story of Noah and the flood. I wanted to share with you something that has absolutely fascinated me I have never seen before.
In Genesis 9:13 we read, “I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.”
I never noticed it before … “in the cloud.” This intrigued me. Why did God set it in the cloud?
Tired and Weary, But I’m Coming Lord
Are you tired of the battle you are fighting? Have you been going through a trial for seems like forever? I’m not usually this transparent in my writings, but today I decided to feel all the feelings and write down my thoughts as I have struggled for a long time now through a heartache I fear will never end. But God says, “Peace, be still.” And so, I choose to rest. I hope you will choose the same.
Now, THIS is Love!
The love of God knows no bounds. We cannot fathom the depth, breath, or height of His love. *
One of my favorite things to do when I need a peaceful respite, is to go on YouTube and watch timelapse videos. If you’ve never watched one, these videos are usually of a scenic nature, usually of an island or country. Besides being inspiring and relaxing, it’s my way of traveling around the world.
And through it all, He declares His love for us.
All Dried Up
Are you having trouble in your writing? Are you having trouble coming up with words to say to someone or to write? Take heart. Even Moses and Aaron hesitated to speak to God’s people and to the Pharoah.
But if you really want to write — especially to encourage others in the Lord — then you need to pray and ask God to speak to you and write through you.
Here are 5 ways to keep going when you feel all dried up.
Invited by the River
The one thing about rivers is, they don’t stand still.
Rivers travel. They bubble and gurgle, always flowing somewhere. But they don’t get stagnant.
Rivers don’t give up. They don’t quit. No matter how many rocks and hills and logs might be in their way, rivers always find a way around their obstacles.
A New Look
Bible stories are made fun and engaging for us as children. The lessons are easy to understand. But as we get older, God reveals extra insights and wisdom into the same passages. Now they are no longer just childhood stories, but lessons for our everyday lives we can cling to as adults as well.
The Ugly, Brown Door
Sometimes I lament I cannot hear God’s voice. He isn’t answering my prayers. He doesn’t seem to even know I exist. But the question I must ask myself is this: Am I seeking God with my whole heart, or am I just throwing a quick prayer into the air hoping He’ll hear me and reply?
Jeremiah 29:13 states, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Did you catch that? “When you search for Me with all your heart.”
Not half-hearted. Not a flip of a coin or a toss of wish. No, it must be, with your WHOLE heart
Sleep in Peace ~ A New Year’s Message
My heart is heavy for all those who have lost so much this past month. A few years ago I did a post about January being the door to the new year. While we may have lost much this year, we can still walk through the new year door with Jesus and know all is well when we focus on Him.
Oh Come, Let Us Adore Him
Merry Christmas my friends! My last poem for this season is an invitation to come and adore our Savior, Christ our Lord. May you find peace, joy, and love not only this day, but every day.
